Wish List items Accomplished!  Thank You!!!!

We have just about all the dollars we need to buy an 8’ by 8’ portable stage for Fr. Rudy Gymnasium. We will purchase it over the summer so that it is in place next school year. It will be very helpful for special events like the Naturalization Program Ceremony, musical performances and school-wide meetings.

No doubt you have noticed that the bell tower has been wired for lighting and is on a time clock to turn it on and off as we decide.

You have provided new cafeteria tables, boiler, tuition scholarships, a water heater, school window shades, teaching aids, landscaping and more. We will try to paint the church this summer.

We have purchased 32 round cafeteria tables and 8 rectangular ones. Donations =$10,000

 · We have received sponsorships for tuition covering full tuition for several students.

 · The Rectory Boiler has been replaced. Donations = $28,000

· New ground cover on boiler room side of church along driveway to stop erosion and beautify has been completed.

· Technology- We replaced our firewall and security hardware. We have been able to supply Smart Boards to each homeroom and now cover grades (K-8) with this technology. We have upgraded to Microsoft Office Professional 2010. Wish List Donations = $40,000+

· Church doors have been refinished.  Donation of time and expertise

· Water Heater for school has been supplied.

· Tree pruning of the large trees around school in front of the major exits (Quad Area) have been taken care of by a tree service. Donation was expertise and time of a Lourdes supporter

· Glass in Door on west side of school annex (St. Bernadette Hall) was replaced- Donation was $250

· Old Vinyl covering for kneelers in confessionals was replaced with new vinyl. Donation of time and Expertise

· Nine new flowering trees were donated and have been planted in and around the grotto area. $2,000.

· The Wheel Chair Ramp to the front Door of the POC was repaired and painted. Donations were over $500. Actual cost will be much lower due to donated time and expertise.

· We have received enough money to buy the paint needed to re-paint and touch up the side walls of the gathering space and the Church interior. Donation = $4000. The job is still to be done.

· The landscaped area alongside the walkway between the church parking lot and the crosswalk on Rosebud was cleared and trimmed.

· Repair or replacement of classroom window shades is complete. Donation was $300.

· We have received a $200 donation and replaced our scanner. That will help communication greatly.

· We were able to repair the hot water heater in the POC. We contacted the donor to return the gift to get a new one. The donor was more than generous in allowing us to use the donation for another wish list item.

· Church Sound system has been repaired and for now is adequate.

Please be assured that we appreciate all of your tremendous help! Thanks for all you do for our parish!

Our Wish List

Landscaping uneven edges between grass and sidewalks especially around rear of the cafeteria and the outside door leading to the kitchen and storage area. This wish list item has become increasingly more important. It is now a safety hazard.
Our original thought was that we would fill these tripping points with fill dirt and mulch and perhaps plant a few shrubs. Our initial plan would have cost $300 to $500. It is evident that a more thorough approach is required. It has become dangerous and with the normal amount of foot traffic we have in
the area and the fact that the summer Festival is coming up, we need your help. The problem has two causes. First, there is a very large amount of runoff storm water that rolls down from Lumardo Drive to the school courtyard or quad; that water then digs a run off trench for itself between the sidewalk and the school and around the picnic tables moving downhill. Second cause is pedestrian traffic (not using the sidewalk).
To provide runoff and to stop foot traffic off of the sidewalk we now believe cost could exceed $5,000. This would in-clude landscaping and a pedestrian rail guard along the sidewall edge closest to the building. The railing would be much like the railing we currently have around Trinity Hall and the Church.
We have $1,785 in wish list money that was given to us to use at our own discretion. Our wish is that with another $5,000 and some volunteer workers, we can do a thorough job of alleviating this serious grounds problem outside the school cafeteria.

Parish Sign Project
– A parishioner has volunteered to form a committee to work with Fr. Dave and pull together a plan for this wish list item. If you have any expertise you would like to add to this cause, please call the parish office center and we will be in touch with you.
We will need funding and volunteers to fully implement this wish and it is too early in the process to come up with a dollar number. If you want to help with funding new directional and descriptive signs throughout the campus, we will track and hold your donation until we are ready to move forward. Design and cost are still to be determined then approved by Fr. Dave and committee members.

Another wish would be for a more maintenance friendly landscape that minimizes the summer upkeep along the walkway between the church and school. Ideas are still to come. Cost is to be determined. If you wish to donate to this wish list item, please let us know.

Sponsorships of school families in need of tuition assistance are always on our wish list. Available tuition aid including the Dottie Westerfield Fund help a lot but cannot cover all of the need. Registrations fees this year are $50 for K and $150 grades 1-8. Tuition is $2,800 annually.

Technology - Our System Servers are approaching the 7 year mark and are close to capacity, losing speed, and should be replaced. Now that most other technology issues are resolved for a few years we need to address these server issues. Esti-mated Cost = $15,000 to $20,000.

Thanks for all you do and particularly for those things on our wish list that you have already answered by responding to previous lists. We can’t properly express our gratitude. You can be sure we use your donations wisely.
