Pull Those Tabs!

Our Lady of Lourdes is participating in the tri-state’s Pull Tab Contest sponsored by Ronald McDonald House. The winning school will receive the Pop Tab Trophy, but more importantly, we will be supporting families who live at Ronald McDonald House while their children receive much-needed medical care. In 2010, recycled tabs helped raise more than $16,000 for this great cause.

To generate excitement, we are having our own contest among the grades. The winning team in April will get an out-of-uniform day to celebrate their victory. Students may bring tabs to the cafeteria and deposit them in their team’s container. Tiger Pride Buddies will be teams: Grades 1 and 8; 2 and 6 and (K) Mrs. Barney; 3 and 5 and (K) Mrs. Meyer; and grades 4 and 7. Get your relatives, neighbors, co-workers, and friends to save their tabs and be part of the program, too! This is an easy, fun way to serve our neighbor, recycle, and show our Tiger Pride!

Our Junior High Teams continue to excel in the National News Bowl Competition!

Congratulations to our Academic Achievers! OLL is the only Cincinnati school to place in both competitions! Last month’s results included: 8th grade – National – 11th, 15th, & 18th out of 218 teams competing ( team S.H.R.A.M.S. highest) State – 3rd, 4th, & 7th out of 54 teams 7th grade – national – 16th & 18th out of 358 teams competing ( team Smart Cookies highest) State – 5th & 6th out of 21 teams

Our OLL 8th Graders from OLL School and our Religious Ed Program Enjoyed their Visit to our Cathedral and a Tour of our Courthouse by Judge Patrick Dinkelacker!
