The Lourdes Lowdown

From Ms. Rusche’s Desk

Congratulations to our parish 2nd graders who received their First Communion this past weekend. We would like to thank Mrs. Kathy Berninger, Mrs. Mary Beth DePaoli, Mrs.Terry Etter, Mrs. Carol Greulich, Mrs. Carol Clark, and all the parents who prepared them as they met Jesus for the first time in this very meaningful sacrament.

We also want to offer a special thank you to Mrs. Vicki Monahan and Mrs. Kim James who for six years have been our room parent coordinators. Their efforts to assist with all of the major school celebrations have truly been a blessing to the children and faculty at Our Lady of Lourdes. We are grateful for Mrs. Cathy Healey, Mrs. Patricia Peters, and Mrs. Jennifer Kroger who will now take on this service to all of us.

You received a letter about wearing a special Tiger Pride t-shirt for special occasions next year. Due to the generosity of the Chastang family, we are able to purchase these for $5. We hope everyone will join in this endeavor. If it is a hardship for your family, please contact the school office.

On Friday at 1:15 p.m., we will celebrate our May Devotion to Our Blessed Mother. We invite all of you to come pray the rosary and honor Mary in a very special way. If you have flowers from your garden and would like to send some to place around the statue, we would be most grateful. We are not asking for you to go out and purchase flowers.

We wish our junior high science students well as they present their science projects at the state level competition on Saturday, May 10.

Tuesday, May 13, our students will perform "American Pop Forever" at 7 p.m. in the Mt. St. Joseph College Theater.

The 2007-2008 school year ends on May 30. We will dismiss at 1 p.m. on May 29 and 30.
