“The Lord is near to all who call upon him.”

“The Lord is near to all who call upon him.” Our God is just and generous. To help us understand this, Jesus the master teacher, tells us parables. His parables are intended to inspire his listeners. Each of these stories told by Jesus convey multiple layers of meaning. In today’s parable from St. Matthew’s Gospel, Jesus uses the character of the landowner to show that God gives each person his or her due to show God is generous and just. It is not up to you or me to tell God how to be generous. God gives to each one of us what He wills, though not less than what He promised. God speaking through the Prophet Isaiah, tells us “My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways.” After all, we are not the measure of righteous and truth – God is. In dedicating our lives to Christ, we choose to follow the One whose thoughts and ways are above ours. Discipleship demands that we grow and stretch to become the best version of ourselves – the person God calls us to be. How is God calling us to grow in generosity and compassion today? Thank you to everyone who assisted with the festival events. It was very successful because of your efforts. We ask God’s continued blessing on the young people who made their First Communion last week. Have a blessed week! Fr. Len
