Call to Action: Ohio EdChoice Scholarship Program
The State of Ohio Legislature is considering decisions on eligibility and funding for the EdChoice Scholarship Program. Submitting applications for the Traditional EdChoice Scholarship for the next school year has been delayed until April 1, 2020. Families may apply now if they believe they are eligible for the EdChoice Expansion Scholarship.
This decision and the delays imposed impact nearly 1 out of every 3 elementary school students that attend schools across the Diocese, and approximately 60% of the students that attend Our Lady of Lourdes.. Parents need to decide where to enroll their children in school. Every day that goes by makes the situation more difficult for everyone. We believe that parents are the primary educators of their children. They have the right to choose the education that best meets their children’s needs, and public authorities have the responsibility to listen to your voice.
Catholic schools have long provided a vibrant, values-based education focused on forming the whole person. The EdChoice Scholarship Program helps make this educational option possible for children of diverse backgrounds and economic means. For their good and for the good of our society, the EdChoice program should be continued and strengthened.
We ask that you print, address and mail the attached letter to your state legislator. Local Hamilton County representatives are Louis Blessing, District 8/614-466-8068 and
