Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity

It is essential in our relationship with God to acknowledge the Trinity.  This acknowledgement allows us to confirm a relationship which influences all that we say and do.  Living as a disciple of Jesus, we live as Jesus did according to His values and His lifestyle to model for others what Jesus has done for us.

The Father, transcendent creator, the awe-inspiring being, so great that the hem of his garment filled the temple in Isaiah’s vision (6:1).  The Father is the ‘Almighty,’ ruler of heaven and earth.  God so loved the world that he gave his only Son.

The Son, Jesus Christ, is the obedient servant, glorified and seated at the right hand of the Father.  He will return at some time in the future to judge the living and dead.

The Spirit, the Father’s essence, literally is, His ‘life breath; ‘ruah.’  It was this ‘life breath’ that spoke to Moses, raised Jesus from the dead and is now present to us; to anyone who receives Baptism.

God’s deepest desire is that we, a people of faith, continue the work begun in creation and share with God in the work of building of the Kingdom.

I discovered most recently how the kingdom is built.

Thank you so much for the kindness you have extended to me and my family.  You have done this in so many ways since the death of my mother.  I continue to discover the rich movement of God in this time.  It is also manifest in the care of family.  I have four brothers and two sisters.  Each of us cared for my mother in our own way, almost like a seamless garment.  She cared for us up to her last breath and continues to be a guide for us today.

A special thanks to all who help our 8th grade students celebrate this milestone in their lives.  Hold them in your prayer as they move to high school.

God’s love is manifest in each of us.  Join me as we pray for each other as we move on to what is next in our lives.

Have blessed week!  Fr. Len
